Current Project Management Work includes…
Birmingham Book Festival, Events/Activities Project Management, 2008 – ongoing.
Midland Creative Projects Limited programmes and delivers the annual Birmingham Book Festival and a programme of year round events and activities. This includes working with writers, publishers, venues and other partner organisations. We also manage a volunteer programme and the Friends of the Birmingham Book Festival scheme.
Fantastic Fun With Words (Warwickshire Libraries reading/writing Festival) – Events/Activities Project Management, 2008 – 2010.
Midland Creative Projects programmes this annual library-based festival and assists with day to day management. This includes working with writers across the West Midlands and liaising with public libraries and other venues.
Go Dutch! – Writer/Book Promotion Project Management, 2009 – 2010.
Midland Creative Projects Limited manages this programme, including arranging events with a selection of Dutch writers and production and distribution of the Go Dutch! sampler of new writing from the Netherlands. We also assist in delivery of PR for this project, work which is led by Riot Communications.
Ledbury Poetry Festival 2011 (joint Acting Programmer).
Midland Creative Projects Limited will jointly programme the 2011 Ledbury Poetry Festival (with Jo Bell of The Bell Jar) while the Festival’s Director is on maternity leave.
West Midlands Readers’ Network – Activity Project Management, 2008 – ongoing.
Midland Creative Projects Limited delivers all aspects of this reader development programme, from commissioning writers to work with readers’ groups to organising readers’ days. We work particularly closely with public libraries and professional writers in the West Midlands on this project.
Write On! – Learn Programme Project Management, 2008 – ongoing.
Midland Creative Projects Limited manage this major writers in education programme as part of its work for Writing West Midlands. This includes developing projects to bring professional writers into community and schools settings. We typically work with sixty schools a year to deliver this work, and with a team of over thirty emerging or established writers.
Writing West Midlands – Regional Literature Development Agency Management, 2009 – ongoing.
Midland Creative Projects Limited manages all aspects of the work of this agency through a contract of service agreement. This includes advising the Board of Directors on policy and strategy as well as running all activities. We also work closely with partner agencies across the UK.
